      World Book Day

      Published 06/03/25

World Book Day was a fun and exciting event! Students and teachers celebrated the joy of reading through a variety of activities. It was great to see so many pupils arriving as their favourite book characters. The children particularly enjoyed book buddies, where different year groups read together, allowing everyone to discover new stories. The school council voted for the competition winners. Entries had a range of different media which were used to create favourite book scenes or posters for World Book Day. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and imagination, inspiring a love for books and giving Broadwater C. of E. children another way to explore new worlds through reading.

Here are photographs of the competition winners who have taken home an Amazon book voucher each:

The winning entries are: Joel (Y2) and Elodie (Y5)

The runners up were incredibly talented and their creations will be on display in the library. Well done everybody.

    • Time capsule

      Published 04/03/25

To commemorate the opening of the new care home in our local community, Merriman Grange Care Home, we have recently been working on a 'time capsule' project.

Children decided, in their classes, which objects they wanted to include to represent our school, the local area and childhood in 2025. The final items are pictured here. Thank you to Miss Walker and the School Council for collating these.

On Saturday 1st March 2025, a group of our Ambassadors and School Councillors attended the planting ceremony of the time capsule at Merriman Grange. We were thrilled to be joined by the Mayor of Worthing and the Town Crier for this event. Head Girl, Izabela , and Head Boy, Adam , had the honour of placing the capsule into the ground and burying it safely to be unearthed in 50 years time!

What a memorable community project to be involved in!
