School Council, who are democratically voted in by their peers, meet every Thursday lunchtime with an agenda created by the school's leadership team, teachers and the pupils themselves. Every junior class has a school council representative and a deputy if a member is unable to fulfil their duties.

Over the past two years, through fundraising events, the school council at Broadwater Primary school have amazingly raised over £10,000 for a variety of charities.
School council discussed and chose the following charities to support this academic year:
Friends of Mombasa Children
The Anti-Bullying Alliance
Mencap
Guild Care
MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship)
Children in Need
The School Council had another exciting and impactful term, working on projects that brought our school and wider community together. Here’s what we achieved:
Time Capsule Project for Merriman Grange
We were invited to take part in a special time capsule project for the new Merriman Grange care home in Broadwater. School Council gathered ideas from classes, compiled a list of meaningful items, and collected them for the capsule. We then attended the care home’s open day to help bury the time capsule, which will be opened in 50 years!
Glow for GuildCare
To support the charity GuildCare, we organised a 'Glow for GuildCare' fundraiser, where everyone wore bright clothes to school. We also decorated money boxes to collect donations, raising an amazing £839!
World Book Day Competition Judges
One of our favourite roles this term was being judges for the World Book Day competition! We carefully looked through all the creative entries and helped decide the winners, celebrating the amazing efforts of our classmates.
During the Autumn term, the School Council made a positive impact on our school community. Here are some of the fantastic things we achieved:
